today is a throwing day.
i’ve been in a little rut because my platonic life partner has traveled to france for the entire summer which makes me sad and not want to do anything. but i can’t wait to hear about her adventures and i am very excited for her at the same time! horse cup is going with her- my first cup to travel internationally! i requested a photo of horse cup with the eiffel tower.
so after moping around and being generally pathetic for a few days, i finally sucked it up and got back to work. and with the help of these fancy candles, bluegrass, and lots of strong black tea- i threw all of these this morning. i feel much better.

durango right after one of our morning rides when i was staying up at his house last week! look at those flashy white splint boots- ooh la la! he thinks he is super fancy when he wears them. my little ham. <3 <3 <3
gotta get in the studio to finish up some pieces. i’ve been sick and i feel like i’ve lost a lot of work time. i have this problem where i just want to keep throwing instead of finishing. ahh. but my bonsai tree really wants a new planter…! i’ll throw & finish.
i’ve been staying the night at my horse’s house because the barn owner is on vacation. he has been happy to see me more often! i am going to stock up on apples and carrots and maybe even special horse treats today to spoil him. because he deserves it. i’m only there for two more nights. i love being able to wake up, go get my horse, and go for a ride. i wish durango lived with me.
i picked some cute spring flowers that were in the parking lot at work and put them in a vase that i made last year. here they are sitting on the front desk at work! hooray spring!

successful day in the studio: ceramic flasks! my mad potter friend stu and i made a bunch of these bad boys. my kidney shaped three on the left- his wabi-sabi three on the right. they will be decorated tomorrow!
i don’t throw big, so hitting almost 9” is pretty awesome for me! i’m trying to make some fun stuff for the pit firing. this guy is perfect for it!
the haul from saturday’s marathon throwing session. from the livestream! artofmassdestruction, i’m not sure where the one from the “6-inch cylinder challenge” is, but its in there! that was super fun. i threw a ton this morning too and i am sore. look at the tiny vases! they are for a secret may day project! i guess it isn’t so secret because i keep telling people about it but i don’t care.
